Join BTMC founder Alex on a 2ish mile hike through mutiple different ecosystems! Throughout our journey we'll see Redwood trees, woodland habitat as well as chaparral! If these terms are new to you, that's okay. We'll cover the primary ecosystems we see in Oakland as well as the top 8 most common medicinial and edible plants historically and currently used by the Muwekma Peoples. Please note! There is a mild incline to access trail and after that it's flat the entire trek!
The outcome is for participants to feel a lil more comfortable and confident in plant identification and to move with the Earth in a good way.
Please bring a backpack with plenty of water, lunch and snacks for yourself. Close toed tennis shoes or hiking shoes are recommended as are sunscreen, sunglasses and/or a hat! I'll be providing handouts for all and will have a couple identification books handy- I'll also bring binoulars incase we get lucky with any airbound friends.
Hit up Alex for any questions or inquiries! We'll meet at the Highwire on Mountain Blvd and then folick to the trail from there!
